The Octospawn Coral is a crown jewel of the Euphyllia family, instantly distinguished by its fleshy tentacles that branch out into multiple, bubble-like tips on a single stalk. Typically sporting a velvety translucent green, pink, or gold body tipped in high-contrast neon cream, this branching powerhouse sways elegantly in your water current—creating a dynamic display of continuous motion.

Highly adaptive and hardier than many delicate stony corals, this classic favorite is the absolute perfect choice for adding dramatic movement to your reef. 

Demands moderate, indirect water current. The flow must be strong enough to keep its long tentacles bobbing gently, but avoid direct, blasting powerhead streams, which can force the tissue to retract or tear against its own sharp skeleton. 

Thrives best under moderate, well-distributed lighting networks. To prevent bleaching, avoid placing it directly under intense, high-PAR hotspots. It displays its most vibrant, glowing neon fluorescence under heavy blue or actinic LED spectrums. 

As a branching stony coral, it rapidly utilizes calcium and alkalinity to build its hard framework. Ensure stable dosing parameters to support its skeletal growth as it splits heads and forms a massive, multi-branched colony. 

Like all Euphyllia, the Octospawn is a fierce defender of its territory. It extends long, clear, highly venomous sweeper tentacles at night that will sting and kill neighboring corals. Leave at least 4–6 inches of physical space between it and other species (though it can safely touch most Hammers and Frogspawns).

While it gets energy from photosynthesis, it loves supplemental target feeding. Offering it micro-pellets, powdered reef roids, or frozen mysis shrimp 1–2 times a week when its feeding tentacles are out will dramatically speed up head splitting and maximize tissue thickness.
