The Ice Age Chalice is famous for its stunning, high-contrast color scheme, showcasing a thick, glacier-blue and frosted-silver base that contrasts sharply against blazing, bright neon-orange or pink eyes. This breathtaking combination of hot and cold tones creates a brilliant glow that completely stands out under blue or actinic LED lighting.

As a slow-growing, encrusting and plating masterpiece, it forms magnificent scrolling rims over your rockwork, making it a true centerpiece for any dedicated reef aquarium.

Features a frosty, metallic blue-grey flesh accented by fiery, raised eyes. As the colony grows, it plates outward and scrolls upward at the edges, giving the coral a beautifully complex, three-dimensional structure.

Thrives on deeper reef walls and slopes in the wild. To keep its delicate glacial blue coloration from fading or bleaching, protect it from intense, direct lighting. It displays its most vibrant, glowing fluorescence under heavy blue spectrums.

Requires just enough indirect water movement to prevent detritus and waste from gathering on its flat tissue surfaces. Avoid placing it directly in front of powerful wavemakers, which can press its flesh against its sharp internal skeleton.

Like all premium chalices, the Ice Age Chalice is a silent nighttime warrior. Once the lights go completely dark, it extends long, clear, venomous sweeper tentacles to clear its immediate surroundings. Ensure you leave a 3-to-4-inch safety buffer zone between this piece and nearby corals.

While it gains nutrition from photosynthesis, it loves meaty supplemental target feedings. Safely feed it 1–2 times a week when its feeding tentacles are visible at night, using micro-pellets, reef powders, or enriched mysis shrimp to boost its growth rate and maintain its coloration.
