Six Line Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia)
Bring nonstop motion and crucial biological pest protection to your marine aquarium. The Six Line Wrasse is a vibrant powerhouse featuring a striking bluish-purple body adorned with six neon-orange horizontal stripes, a bright green tail, and a protective "false eye" at the base of its fin to confuse predators. This small, hyper-active fish spends every second of the day darting effortlessly in and out of live rock crevices, keeping your system clear of common pests.
Exceptionally hardy and reef-safe, the Six Line Wrasse is universally loved for its ability to target and eliminate aquarium pests that can destroy corals.

Key Features & Tank Requirements
🐛 Ultimate Biological Pest Control
A relentless micro-predator. They are highly sought after for hunting down and eating invasive pests such as bristle worms, flatworms, pyramidellid snails (which infest Tridacna clams), and coral-eating nudibranchs.
🪨 Intricate Rockwork Required
This wrasse naturally explores tight spaces. They do not bury themselves in sand like other wrasses; instead, they sleep inside rock cracks and spin a protective mucus cocoon. Provide plenty of live rock to make them feel safe.
🔒 Jump Protection Mandatory
Like all members of the Labridae family, the Six Line Wrasse is an expert jumper when startled or chasing food. A tight-fitting glass lid or mesh screen with absolutely zero open gaps is strictly required.
🍖 Active Carnivore Feedings
Possesses a high metabolism and remains active throughout the photoperiod. While they forage for live organisms on rocks, supplement them daily with high-protein frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and marine pellets.
⚠️ Aggression & Tank Mate Planning
While peaceful toward unrelated fish, they can be fierce bullies toward other wrasses, fairy wrasses, or similarly shaped bottom-dwellers like dottybacks or grammas. To minimize territorial issues, always introduce this fish as the absolute final addition to your tank.
